In the historic district council or Cayo Hueso Neighbourhood, this building contains the remains of the ancient quarries of San Lazaro, especially its section "La Criolla". It is possible to see in this place, photographic testimonies and works of art, objects and documents related to the Master, such as: odor pad donated by María García Granados, a replica of Munckasy`s painting that Martí sent to a friend, and so on. 

It is a Museum that offers the following services to the public: center of reference and room of reading, video library martiana, base of information about Jose Martí's ideas, directed visits, free courses and advising of teaching and research, activities for children, sedates of the Chair Martiana of the University of Havana, that dedicates essentially to the postgraduate education, area of exhibitions and assembly hall.
