Zone/Area: La Habana Ciudad
This convent was founded in 1854, at the arrival of the Charity Daughters of San Vicente de Paúl to Cuba. This religious congregation was dedicated to very different trades. In its early founding, Bishop Fleix Solans entrusted them the attention of the San Lazaro and San Dionisio Hospital and the House of Charity. These institutions were located near the residence of the religious. Over the time San Lazaro Hospital was moved to the Santiago de las Vegas lands called "El Rincon". The Charity house was in operation until the early years of the 60s of the twentieth century. This bordering area was demolished for the construction of a hospital center for the medicine study in Cuba called "Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital" kept in the basement of the new building a wall with a commemorative tally of this charitable institution.
