MARIAN NATIONAL SANCTUARY OF THE WEST ¨NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA CARIDAD¨ It has its precedents in the hermitages of health, Guadalupe and San Luis Gonzaga, this last one raised in 1751 towards the corner of this Causeway and the one of Belascoaín and destroyed by Tacón in 1835. The one of Health owed to Pardo Miguel A. Rojas, putting her image on May 1st of 1742 and was placed in the Campanario street. The one of Guadalape is dedicated to this image by Don Francisco Cañete, made of straw in its begginings and in 1796 it was made of masonry and tile. In 1718 was consecrated and declared auxiliary in 1742, on it the religious and other people stopped to pray. They with Bishop Manuel de Santa Cruz at the front left the city when the British invasion occured(1762-63). It was located in the Aleey of the sigh and Aguila Street in 1762, was destroyed by orders of Belgian Don Agustin Kramer. The image of Guadalupe cros the Manrique street where was built in 1815 the current Parish of Guadalupe (current temple Ntra Sra de la Caridad).
