Zone/Area: Isla de la Juventud
In the far south of the island, 122 kilometers from Nueva Gerona, the capital, is located in an area of four hectares, the National Marine Park Punta Frances, one of the best preserved in the coastal country. The area also contains a land with lush vegetation and its wildlife, which includes the tocororo, the cabrerito and the parrot. On the submarine plane, it is located a coral reef of extraordinary beauty, virginity and species diversity, with numerous caves and abundant tubular sponges, all of this valid for diving, in places where there are offered day and night diving, underwater photography and marine facilities with berths for boats, with drinking water, electricity, fuel station and police station. Impressive also are its beaches and compact jungles filled with stony areas, leafy palms and springs of sulphurous waters, very demandedby the visitors. Source: Diary Granma, Havana. Cuba.
